SEGP was founded by Daniel (E. St. Mark) Latty, PhD, an investor and operator with experience across biotechnology, private equity, logistics, real estate, and financial services. Dr. Latty previously managed Recombinix, LLC, and served as Course Director and Lecturer at a global Top-10 research university, where he helped design a curriculum that produced investor-ready scientific ventures.

He has acquired and led an airport logistics company, sourced capital for consumer and biopharmaceutical transactions, arranged funding for large commercial real estate developments, and overseen diligence for multibillion-dollar real estate acquisitions. His background includes serving as interim CEO of an acquired commercial bank and leading an investment banking group for an insurance parent focused on media financing.

Dr. Latty has taught venture capital and private equity at the MBA level, including designing the course at another research university. He has attended graduate institutions including New York University, Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
